Hello. If you're reading this, you're either curious, want to know how much something you're selling is worth, or want to know if you're getting a good deal for what you're buying.
Many factors can go into how much these things are worth, but at the end of the day it's important to remember that these are just generic bootlegs made by some random factory. They're built cheaply, NOS (new old stock) ones likely have tons of issues that (chances are) you don't know how to fix, and this was probably five bucks at some dollar store somewhere.
If something's being sold for upward of $60, I'd avoid it. I suggest not buying from people selling these for high prices, because they are (knowingly or unknowingly) contributing to the speculative bubble. A very famous and well known example of this in the community is Scout Car. These were being sold on eBay for $50, then $80, then $100, then $200, and recently I've seen one pop up for $450. If people hadn't bought these and only bought them at reasonable prices, this wouldn't have happened.
We don't want this to happen with every chinafake.
If you're a new collector and want to get some neat old stuff for your collection, don't do it like this. Check out a local dollar store/99 cent store that isn't part of a chain. Heck, check out every single one in your area. A lot of times, those places are hiding the same undisturbed treasures, sitting for 10+ years, that eBay sellers are charging $50 for.
