Diverting Toys is a bootleg Mickey Mouse toy. It is a ripoff of the "Push and Go Mo" toy. It is believed to have been made by Yi Teng Toys around 2005.
Appearance[edit]
The toy resembles Mo, a car from the TV show "Fifi and the Flowertots", that is being driven by Mickey Mouse. Mickey wears a blue version of Fifi's clothes, and has eyelashes and yellow arms. The car can be either blue or red. The front of the car has a mouth, as well as two headlights that are supposed to be its eyes. It has a license plate sticker on the front that seems to say "Posies" on it, and another one on the bucket container that seems to say "Partner" on it.
Functions[edit]
The toy has bump n go action. The headlights, bucket container, and the front of the car flash. Mickey's head bounces when you touch it (similar to a bobblehead). Every now and then, the car stops moving, lifts up, and spins 360 degrees before assuming its original position and continuing to drive around. The toy plays "Tick Tock" by Smile.dk. Sometimes, it plays a high-pitched version of the song.
Trivia[edit]
- There are extremely rare versions of this toy that can have either Fifi or Weslie from the Chinese cartoon "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" riding the car instead.
- These variants play the theme song of the show.
- Many people believed that the toy's name was "Diverying Coys" because of the Disney font and the "T" in the word "Toys" being curved.
- The toy's name has also been mistaken as "Diverpiny Coys" and "Diverping Toys"
- There are many variants of this toy that have different themes, characters, cars, and sounds that go under the same name.
- There is a very similar toy under the name "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Adventure Journey". It shares many similarities to Diverting Toys (Mickey wears Fifi's clothes) but also has differences (Mickey has no eyelashes). The toy has two different types of car. It is unknown if a version with a yellow car and Mickey wearing blue clothes exists. The song it plays is unknown.
- There's also a very similar toy called "Mickey & Hamburger". It works like Diverting Toys, but Mickey's face is more detailed and he's riding the "Patty Wagon" from "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" instead. The toy can possibly play "Nobody".
- Due to Mickey wearing Fifi's clothing, it is likely that Yi Teng Toys also made the Fifi version of the toy.
- There is also a Fifi version of the hamburger car, called "Crazy Hamburger".
- A similar toy named "Driving Racing" exists.
- The toy was commonly sold around New Jersey malls.
