Oversized Thomas Electric Track Set (超大号托马斯电动轨道套装 in Chinese) is a knockoff remote controlled Thomas the Tank Engine set by Fenfa Toys. The bump and go versions of the toy were sold by Yuecheng. It's mould is stolen from R/C Steam and Sounds Thomas by TOMY.[1]
Features[edit]
The train set can come with a coach or a truck. It comes with blue plastic tracks and plastic trees. Thomas has a face with a pair of eyes and a mouth that moves up and down, and a lamphead. The train has a light near its wheels on its left and right side that flashes. He also has gray wheels and yellow side rods. The train set comes with a blue remote that is shaped like a steering wheel. The toy can play the song ”Engine Roll Call” when the middle button on the remote is pressed. The 'up' arrow on the right side of the remote can make Thomas's eyes and mouth move.
Yuecheng's Versions[edit]
Yuecheng sold a Bump and Go version of the toy with a face without moving eyes and mouth. Two versions of the bump and go variant were sold by Yuecheng, including a version that looks like Fenfa's version with the company's logo and another version where Thomas is mostly red and blue with large yellow buffers and a yellow funnel. Though stock photos have shown the toys with a face that looks exactly like Fenfa's version of this knockoff, it's not known if these trains are prototypes or if they were released. The red and blue version of the toy with a moving face has a red dollar sign instead of a yellow one.
Friction motor version[edit]
A variant with a friction motor is known to exist.
Trivia[edit]
- Despite the toy uses the mould from R/C Steam and Sounds Thomas by TOMY, the knockoff version has a headlamp while the original one doesn't have it.
